Review: Flanax

Over the years, I have tried almost every single over-the-counter pain reliever. When I find one that gives me more relief, that one has my loyalty. But, I will still try others to see if those others will give me the needed relief I am searching for.

I had never heard of Flanax until recently. So, I wanted to give it a try. Let me just say - I made a good call. Let me explain.
Over the years, I have built a tolerance to over-the-counter pain relievers (I started getting frequent migraines when I was in the fourth grade). I do not like taking more than two pills at a time because I worry about the long-term effect on my liver. So, when I got Flanax, I took two (as directed) for my headache. Within forty-five minutes, my pain had reduced. It was not gone, but there was a significant decrease. A few hours later when the pain started to build again, I took one more (the directions state that you should start with two, but do not exceed three within a twenty-four hour span). My pain relief continued throughout the day.
I love the fact that this is also a fever reducer. My husband and I do not usually get fevers, but when we do, it really takes a toll. My husband usually sleeps throughout the day. I do not sleep, but my thinking becomes erratic. There is no sense going on in my thought process when I get a fever. I have not been able to test Flanax on fevers yet, but since it seemed to work with pain, I am confident it will work just as well with a fever.

Review: Olivia and Joy Control Top Panty Hose

I am not a big wearer of panty hose. It is rare for me to find a pair that I like. But I do not think that will be a problem anymore.
First of all, I have long legs and more often than not, the crotch of panty hose fall much below where it should. When I get bigger sizes, then they are tall enough, but the legs are too loose and I have all of these wrinkles all over my calves and thighs. Fortunately that has not happened with these panty hose. They fit perfectly.
I am also not a fan of flesh-colored panty hose. I love panty hose with color, but if I am going to downplay them I stick to black. Hey. Black is slimming. My legs certainly look and feel slimmer when I wear these.
I also need panty hose that do not snag and tear on everything. These have stood the test of two wedding receptions. If they can take that, they can take anything. Of course, you have to take care of the panty hose properly. For one - do not put them in the washer. Please wash them by hand. This will help ensure that they do not fall apart. All in all though, these are not a bad pair to have on hand.

Review: Jackyled LED Filament ST64 Edison Bulb

I enjoy vintage style light bulbs. It lends a touch of old-fashioned sophistication to any lamp or ceiling fixture. I have started to acquire these as time goes on. Soon, I hope to replace all of my humdrum light bulbs with these.
   Such as this one.

This light bulb definitely has the Edison look going on. I love how it looks in my bedside lamp. The light that emanates from it is perfect - not too bright and not too dim. Speaking of dim, this is not a dimmable light. What you get out of it will not change. What will change is your electricity bill. This is an LED light bulb, so it will not suck as much of your electricity. It will also last longer.
This is not a bad bulb to try out in your home.

Review: Grace Karin Women's Elastic Belt

When it comes to finding decent, stylish belts I do not have much luck. Perhaps I am too picky, but I like belts that are comfortable and fashionable. And I cannot seem to find them in the standard box stores.

This belt however, fits what I am looking for. First and foremost, it is comfortable. Now, it is a stretchy plus-size belt. I have been losing weight and it did not stretch to accommodate my waist line, so I think I will get maybe six months worth of wear out of it. Which is unfortunate. I love the way it hugs my curves and there is no pinching involved. I certainly don't feel like it is trying to strangle me.
The second thing I love about this belt is the look of it. I prefer black belts anyway, but the clasp is striking. It is very monochromatic, so it will go with any outfit you decide to wear. So far, I have worn it with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and with a skirt and V-neck blouse. Pairing my knee-high boots with the skirt, blouse and belt really created a wonderful look.
The clasp may look complicated, but it really isn't. It is quite easy to attach and detach. So easy in fact, I was afraid it would just pop off while I was wearing it, but it did not. All in all, wonderful accessory for your wardrobe.

Review: Nutri Lifescience Nutri Testo

We are a household that loves supplements. Anything that will make us feel healthier is awesome in our book. One way to feel healthier is to have a good amount of energy and that just does not happen as often as it used to. That is one of the biggest perks of this Nutri Testo supplement from Nutri Lifescience.

Now, my husband and I have only recently started this supplement and it took a few days to feel any kind of surge in energy. The wait was well worth it. It was not like drinking a 5 Hour or an energy drink. It was a steady energy that lasted throughout the day. Granted, neither one of us are playing a lot of sports right now. He needs knee surgery and I need hip surgery, but it sure is nice to feel like I can play a good game of volleyball without puttering out. It is important to note that while this might increase your energy, it is not to be used to lower the number on your scale.
We have also both noticed a better night's sleep. Again, that effect occurred a few days after beginning. My husband, in particular, has been sleeping better.
Since we have always had a healthy sex life, we have not noticed much of a difference in the claim to enhance our libidos. However, if it works on more than one claim, I am assuming it will work just as well on others.

Review: Mia Sarine Women's Stud Earrings

Normally, I am not a big fan of stud earrings. I thoroughly enjoy dangly earrings. But, you never know how certain things will look until you try them on, right?
I recently acquired these stud earrings from Mia Sarine
because they certainly look different than any other stud earrings I have ever worn. For one, they are not exactly circular. They are more square with rounded corners. They are also sterling silver covered in 18k gold. I normally just favor silver. However, my husband is a fan of how gold looks on me, so I do wear it often.
After I put these studs in, I looked to see how they appeared on my ear lobes. They are not a bad fit. They are not so small that they are almost invisible, and they are not so huge to overtake my ears. What I especially love about them is that there is almost no weight to them. I hate the feeling of my lobes getting stretched out.
   I would recommend these.

Review: Classique Butter Knife and Honey Dipper

I have never seen a butter knife such as this one before. All of my butter knives are in my silverware drawer. Most of them look the same, but a few odd ones are included too. I am pretty sure that this particular butter knife will not find a home in the drawer.

It is a well-constructed butter knife. I particularly love the handle. It is not decorated in any way, but rather it is made to fit into a person's hand. The grip is incredibly comfortable. The blade however. I am not sure about the blade. Let me say this - if you do not have a dishwasher, this might be difficult to clean. There are holes on this blade, so the butter just stays in the holes. The first time I used the knife, I put it in the dishwasher afterward and it came out just fine. The second time I used it, I tried to hand wash it (even though I hate hand washing, I wanted to see how difficult it might be for someone to clean this). Let's just say it took a lot longer than your standard butter knife. So, I will be using this knife as the table butter knife for holiday feasts. It is lovely enough to do that.
The honey dipper is wood, but the grooves are not as prominent as other dippers I have seen. I've seen quite a bit of them. Every year, I get some honey from local bee farmers. Honey is a big deal in my house. My last honey dipper broke, so I have been without one, but I will see how well this dipper works. I have not yet received my honey, so unfortunately I cannot test it just yet.

Review: Toolsand Electric Pencil Sharpener

Now that school is in session, I can rest easier and so can my wallet. So many things to buy! And I like to get my daughter something just for her every year - something that is not necessarily on the list from school. This year, I got her this electric battery-powered pencil sharpener. When she opened it up, she was so happy and immediately set to sharpening her new pencils. I stopped her after two.

The sharpener uses two AA batteries, which are easy enough to come by. But, an added boon is that when the batteries die and you perhaps do not have any more, the sharpener does not need to just collect dust. It has a hand sharpening option. Just switch it over, insert the pencil and twist.
This sharpener gives pencils a wonderfully fine tip. So far, there has not been a lot of lead breaking occurring. All in all, not a bad sharpener and perfect for little ones in elementary school who can show they are responsible with it. You know, the older ones who will not insert pens or Crayons into it.

Check Out This Rowing Machine!

I have been going to the gym off and on for about a year now. I have tried all of the equipment numerous times and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy rowing machines.
The first time I saw a rowing machine was on that movie The Skulls. I thought it certainly looked like fun and it also looked like something that I would relish. I must say that I have tried different rowing machines - in sporting goods stores, gyms and even people's basements. I love them all and I would love to get one of my own in my house. But, which one should I get?
I have been looking at these rowing machines. I like the style of the First Degree Fitness Newport and it does not look like one of the bulky rowers I have tried. The WaterRower Club machine has more bulk, but it also has a wood look which makes it more aesthetically pleasing. Tell me what you think about these machines, please. I could use some opinions.

Review: Kaffina Kaffe Premium Dark Roasted Perfetto Coffee

I am sure that I have mentioned in previous posts about our love of coffee in this household. Every morning, I wake up and turn on the water (we use a French press), choose the grounds (grind them if need be) and add a little bit of salt (it cuts the bitterness - helpful tip). So, we enjoy trying different roasts and blends.

I recently acquired this coffee, even though I am not a huge dark roast fan. It's too bitter and strong for me, but that does not mean I will not drink it. It just means I will use a little more creamer. My husband however, is a huge fan of dark roasts. It gives him the extra kick that he needs in the morning.
So, my take on this coffee when it's black is that it is strong, not the strongest I have ever had, but it certainly has some oomph. I put a little extra creamer in my mug and then it was perfect. It had a smooth and bold flavor. My husband loved it just the way it was. It might not be his favorite coffee, but I think it definitely made the top ten. He drinks two mugs of it before he goes to work every morning.

Review: Dazzle Pure Artisan Soap

I came to a conclusion early this year. You can never have too much soap in your household, especially when you have a two-year-old boy. He gets washed multiple times per day - face, hands, baths. And for multiple reasons - dirt, markers, pens, food - basically whatever he can get his hands on, he will figure out a way to smear it on himself.

I go through plenty of soap because of this reason, plus the four other people who live in our house. Because soap has a tendency to dry skin out, I try to make sure I have moisturizing soap on hand. I recently got this artisan soap because it is moisturizing. It is also made with some coconut oil, which I am a big fan of. It does not have a strong scent. It is extremely subtle. I can barely detect it and I wish it was stronger. That being said, it is an excellent soap. It does not leave a soapy film behind and it also moisturizes. I am kind of surprised as to how well it moisturizes. I usually experience that kind of moisturizing with body washes.
I wish these soaps were bigger. Right now, they are delegated to the sink for hand washing

Review: Kimi Health and Beauty Brazilian Butt Boost

You may remember I previously wrote about the breast enhancement supplement by the same company. Well, they also have this butt enhancement supplement. Again, I saw it and thought "No way!" How can a supplement make my butt look better?

Like my boobs, I am happy with my butt. I am a big and curvy girl, but I love my curves and so does my husband. My butt is definitely not saggy and it has size. Would it be possible for a supplement to give my butt a boost? Answer: no.
I tried it for a while and waited to see or feel any result, no matter how minute. The result never came. Maybe it's because my butt is big enough, or that it does not sag. I do not have the answer as to why it did not work.
It does have some good qualities. Animals were not harmed or tested in the making of this product. It is vegan and it is American made. Everyone should at least try to support American made products whenever they can.
Now, perhaps this supplement will help those who have smaller butts or butts that do sag. If so, more power to them. I hope they have amazing butts at the end. Butt (heh, heh), out of good conscience, I cannot really recommend this product.

Review: Kimi Health and Beauty Breast Max Plus

Who would have thunk that there was a supplement for breast augmentation? I certainly never did, but I found one! Do I need breast augmentation? Not really. I am happy with my boobs and the size of my boobs. However, I wanted to see if these things actually work.

Now, I do appreciate that these supplements are made in the USA. I love supporting businesses that offer American made products. It is something that we all should strive to do. I also love that no animals were harmed in the testing and that they are vegan. Yes, these are natural supplements. If that is enough to entice you, take note that you should not use these if you are pregnant or nursing. Also, if you under the age of 18, wait until you reach that age before you purchase.
On to the result: I did not really get any results. I did not feel my breasts increase in size or firm up. They certainly did not rise. Now, maybe it's because I don't really need breast augmentation in the first place. Maybe not. Maybe these supplements do not actually work. I mean, every person is different. They may work on other people, just not me.

Review: Jackyled Glass Ceiling Light

The standard humdrum ceiling lights just do not do it for me. They never have. I like unique and interesting ceiling fixtures. I recently acquired this ceiling light to suspend above our kitchen bar. Now, I need to tell you that the light is not yet affixed to our ceiling. I have made an appointment with a local electrician to install it. I know the installation instructions are simple enough for me to do it, but I would prefer to leave it to a professional.

That being said, this is a gorgeous ceiling light. I love its sleek look and it comes with an Edison bulb. That gives it somewhat of a steampunk look. I love steampunk! The glass is well constructed. I did not notice any large seams where the glass was fused together. It does feel a little thin, but also strong. I particularly love that there are no crevices or creases so that makes it very easy to clean.
I cannot wait for this to be installed in my kitchen. It will give it a more personalized look. Plus, it will blow away the ceiling light I have now. I wish I could tell you more about it right now, but I guess everyone will have to go on a little faith here. I have read other reviews and no one has had problems with faulty wiring or connections. So, I am confident it will work wonderfully.

Review: I-Mate Digital Timer Switch

Electronic gadgets are awesome! We love having a variety of electronic gadgets around the house. Granted, a lot of them lose their appeal after a while, but some of them manage to stay in use. One such gadget that has withstood the battle of time is this digital timer switch.

At first, I was not quite sure where I would use this. A lot of our electronics are connected to power surge protectors. Eventually, I found one lamp with which I could utilize this switch. The lamp is in our living room and is usually one of the first lights that is turned on in our house every morning when people wake up. So, I plugged this into the outlet on the wall, plugged the lamp into the switch and then set the timer. Since people usually start stumbling out of their bedrooms at 7:30 in the morning, I set it for 7:15 a.m.
When I went to bed that night, I made sure all the lights were out in our house. When I woke up the next morning, I was greeted with the warm light coming from the lamp. Since I am a fanatic about turning lights off in our house, I knew I did not have to freak out about someone leaving the light on all night. The next morning, I went out a little earlier - about 7:08. And I stood there, waiting to see if the light would turn on at 7:15. I was not disappointed.
Setting the digital switch up was very easy. The instructions that came along with it were understandable. The only thing I have to complain about is I wish the switch was a little smaller. But, I recommend this.

Review: Swissvita Facial Cleanser

I have never been too picky when it comes to facial cleansers. As long as it does its job and gets rid of any dirt or grime that is sitting on my epidermis, then I am happy. With that being said, that does not mean that I cannot appreciate a quality facial cleanser.

Since I acquired this new cleanser, I have not noticed a decrease in the amount of pimples I have. I mean, the blackheads spotting my nose are still there. I still get the occasional pimple gracing my forehead or chin. So, this cleanser is not doing much for me in the ways of reducing acne. It is, however, doing a good job in moisturizing my skin. I have dry skin. I always have, so lotion is a way of life for me.
I am still applying lotion after I get done using this cleanser, but not as much. My skin feels very soft and smooth after I wash, so I have cut my lotion application by half. The cleanser also claims to get rid of dull complexions. I have never really had a problem of a dull complexion, so it is not something I have worried about.
I am on the fence regarding this cleanser. It is not the best I have ever tried, but it is not the worst. It is certainly worth checking out, though.

Review: Sagano Natural Air Freshener and Odor Remover

When you have little kids, your home will take on mystery smells. Whether you want it to or not. It is inevitable. Right now, my oldest child's room is taking on smells . . . and no one knows where it is coming from. The laundry? The carpet? We frequently open the window in her room to let fresh air in and try to get rid of the scents, but they keep returning.

I consistently wash the laundry and the bedding. I've washed the stuffed animals. I've deodorized the carpet. It's kind of driving me nuts. So, I got an air freshener and odor remover to help me out. What I love about this is that it does not try to mask the stench. I do not have to spray the air to get rid of the smell and then have a floral covered nastiness as a result. I just set this in her room in a location that is not disturbed and it goes to work.
This is bamboo activated charcoal, so it is all natural, safe, healthy and effective. Charcoal already does a wonderful job in eliminating horrid smells. This is contained in a hard plastic container, so it will not rip or break. I originally got this for my fridge, since it is safe to be around foods, but I figured my daughter's room could use it more. I noticed on its second day that the scent had decreased significantly. By the fourth day, it was no more. So, I highly recommend this.
