I have never used charcoal powder on my teeth before, but I read that it was supposed to help whiten your teeth. After years of coffee drinking and cigarette smoking (which I quit three years ago), my teeth are definitely not the pearly white they once were. The whitening strips never worked. The gel and the teeth trays worked a little better. It was time to try something else.
I was apprehensive to say the least. The only experience I ever had with charcoal was putting it in a grill and setting it on fire. But, I was still going to give it a try.
The instructions said to put the charcoal powder on a moistened toothbrush and then brush your teeth normally. Right now, I have a couple teeth that are sensitive, so I was expecting a little zing when I brushed, but that never came. Thankfully.
After I got done brushing, I noticed that my teeth were black! At first it was alarming, but then humor set in and then mischievousness. I heard my daughter come out of her room and I snuck up behind her. I grabbed her and showed her my black teeth. The startled scream was perfect! Then laughter set in.
Fortunately, my teeth did not remain black. A good rinse and it was gone. After using it for about a week, I have noticed my teeth taking on a whiter tone. They are also shinier.
Full disclosure: I was sent this product free of charge in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
